\nIn it\u2019s second year the Kimbrough Cotton-Patch Blues Festival is three days of unfiltered Cotton-Patch Soul Blues hosted by Junior\u2019s youngest son, Robert Kimbrough Sr. The festival is dedicated to the preservation, education and celebration of the music and life of North Mississippi Cotton-Patch Soul Blues legend David \u201cJunior\u201d Kimbrough.<\/p>\n

Join us ALL NIGHT LONG<\/strong> for a photo and sculpture exhibit by Bill Steber <\/p>\n Saturday MAY 12, 2018 10 AM – 4 PM\u00a0<\/strong> 7:00 -9:30 A true country breakfast will be available at the HUT. Robert’s older sister Stephenie will prepare a breakfast. Robert’s favorite meal of the day.<\/p>\n Classes begin at 10 am Saturday 10 AM- 4 PM<\/strong> Later Saturday night<\/strong> back at The Hut, the students will be invited on to jam with the same Blues Legends. The night will run in the traditional juke joint style of switching off with plenty of guest musicians. Fish sandwiches, burgers and cold beer will be available. \nJunior\u2019s sons Robert, David and Kinney will be available for guitar, bass and drum instruction all day. Little Joe Ayers will also be available for Cotton-Patch Blues guitar lessons. David Hayden of Dallas Texas on harp will offer his knowledge on harmonica. Students will be encouraged to show-off \u201ctheir\u201d style, while the Blues Legends shares their secrets. \nThis tour will visit the forlorn and rural graves of hill country blues artists such as R.L. Burnside, Johnny Woods, Ranie Burnette, Wilbert Lee Reliford, Sid Hemphill, Jessie Mae Hemphill, Lucius Smith, Fred McDowell, Joe Callicott, and the long mysterious final resting place of Eli Green.

\nride around town with Little Joe. On Sunday morning to all the local spots that pertain to Junior\u2019s life in the Holy Springs area. The tour includes the home he shared with his sons, where Junior hosted countless house parties, Junior\u2019s clubs, Blues Markers, Marshall Scruggs and Junior\u2019s grave. Joe and will be on hand to tell stories, answer questions, and pose for photos.
