Rooted in the family tradition Sherena Boyce RL’s daughter and famed #1 Juke Joint Dancer has put together a star studded Hill Country Blues line up to shake ‘em on down. To help everyone get in a hypnotic head Sherena bill two notable area family groups The Hurt Family Fife and Drum band, and Sharde Thomas and The Rising Stars. Junior’s sons Robert, David and Kinney will be available for guitar, bass and drum instruction all day. Little Joe Ayers will also be available for Cotton-Patch Blues guitar lessons. David Hayden of Dallas Texas on harp will offer his knowledge on harmonica. Students will be encouraged to show-off “their” style, while the Blues Legends shares their secrets. The night will run in the traditional juke joint style of switching off with plenty of guest musicians. Fish sandwiches, burgers and cold beer will be available. The club is open to all, and locals are welcome! The tour includes the home he shared with his sons, where Junior hosted countless house parties, Junior’s clubs, Blues Markers, Marshall Scruggs and Junior’s grave. Joe and will be on hand to tell stories, answer questions, and pose for photos. $25.00 limited 25 people

Many have contacted us here at FANCY asking about the insane twenty-minute vocal track included on the CD-R mix that accompanied 100 copies of our premier issue (if you didn’t get one, check www.fancymag.com for downloadable MP3’s). Here’s the story. A few months back, a West Coast acquaintance asked if we had heard the rappin’ Korean bus driver. Well, we had not and a few weeks later the tape was in our P.O. Box. It sounded like a spastic auctioneer on methamphetamine chanting furiously over cheesy Casio keyboard riffs. The tape had two tracks. Each was a 25-minute non-stop party comprised of nonsensical scat yodels backed by a hypnotizing aerobicized beat. Our friend could only tell us that he got the tape in 1991 while in Japan visiting friends. His friends discovered it while on holiday in Korea.
